Jawai Bandh is an ancient dam constructed across the Jawai River near Sumerpur Town in Pali District of Rajasthan which is the largest reservoir of the state. Formerly built by King Umaid Singh of Jodhpur in 1956-57 with an aim to pump water for irrigation, this reservoir has since then been supplying water to Jodhpur and nearby villages or districts. The dam is spread over an area of 500 sq kilometers with a height of 61 feet.
