About Jawai -
On 12th May 1946, the construction of Jawai Dam was begun on the behest of Maharaja Umaid Singh of Jodhpur. The dam took about 11 years to construct and it is the biggest dam in Western Rajasthan that provides a water supply to Jodhpur and some nearby areas in Pali District. The entire village is a home of the Rabari Tribe of Rajasthan who were originally the nomads.
